| Dear
Scott, What a week! This is my first time to Texas School and I know I made the right choice. I was a little afraid, I wouldn’t understand and that it might be complex, but it was simple. Your brochure description sounded the best of everything and it was. Your personality is perfect for teaching. You are clear, you make students think, your humor is terrific, you put us at ease. I don’t feel dumb or awkward learning from you. I appreciated your honest critique of our work, I think you are a terrific photographer and a super teacher. Thank you for sharing your passion for teaching in a simple, fun way. It is clearly evident you love to teach and it comes through. I learned so much, and will always treasure this week! Thanks for everything! Dixie Dobbins |

| Scott I
really enjoyed your class. Observing the other classes, I
feel like your class was the most exciting; never boring
and I learned a great deal. I know that what I learned
this week, it will be with me for a lifetime. Thank you
for the patience that you took to teach each and every
one of us. Thank you Very much! Linda Wood |

|
| I started
as studio manager- not as the photographer. Your class
has been wonderful! The posing and lighting techniques
are the things I needed to learn the most. They will be
very valuable to me in future photo sessions. You are a
great instructor and you make learning a previously
difficult subject (lighting) very interesting and easy to
understand. I would definitely recommend your class and
am very pleased that I had the privilege to study under
you. Thank you, Nancy Brownlow |

| Scott, It is hard to know where to start, I guess the thing that has impressed me the most is the honesty and openness you present. I appreciate your genuineness and the sharing of yourself. It makes your presentation very believable and real. (from the heart). I really learned to see how electronic lighting will end up in the final product- keeping things simple and creative, new perspectives and the like. I especially liked the lighting made simple. I knew the different types (except power lighting AKA Scott’s lighting). You made it cookie cutter simple. Other little things, details to look for, very helpful as well as forms provided and new ideas. Simplicity in the studio gives me hope to stay the course. Thank you for giving of yourself, your family and your love of teaching. I appreciate the honesty and integrity that you bring to the profession. May the Lord bless you and keep you, Becky & Jennifer in His care. Your friend always, David Safely |

| I have
had fantastic success with what I've learned from Scott's
class Schubert Whitaker |

|
| I needed
a starting point. Your class gave me that starting point
and the direction for the skills I had already developed.
Beginning with studio lighting and ending with a
discussion of merit print preparation, the class covered
every topic that a beginning professional needs. You
taught that with integrity from the photographer and
dignity for the client, the possibilities are limitless.
The course exceeded all of my expectations. Paul Basham |

| Scott -
I’ve never learned so much in such a short time.
Everything is and will be invaluable. When I arrived this
week I wasn’t sure of my abilities. Thank you for
helping me realize my potential. My best and warmest
regards for you and your family. Hope to see you again
next year. Jim Stover |

| Dear
Scott, Where do I start? Since I was basically a blank slate when I came to Texas School, I am so glad I was in your class. Your teaching style made everything easy to understand and for that I will be eternally grateful. Given the technical nature of photography, I was afraid of a lot of technical sounding words that would have sent me “over the edge”. I was not committed to professional photography when I came to Texas School. I wanted to know more about it to help me decide if I wanted to do it. After 22 years of portrait painting, and at age 49, my career change needs to be well chosen. Your class really brought me a long way - from maybe to YES! The lighting techniques were excellent and they were well taught. I now look with a very critical eye on my portraits and am sad that all those years could have been much more stress-free with a better product, if I had only known proper lighting. Oh well, at least I know it now. I’m glad you showed us such a wide variety of subject matter and lighting. Being a novice, it was great to see broad parameters in lighting and posing. I have so many more options than I would have had if I had seen purely traditional treatments. The business forms, etc. will be invaluable and are a comfort to have because that part of the job is not my forte. Thanks so much for sharing those! As you might imagine, everything you told us was “big” for me because I knew nothing going in, except some artistic concepts, and I learned more about those as well. Thanks again for an excellent learning experience. I can’t remember having a more enjoyable, informative week. My prayers and best wishes are with you and Becky. Sincerely, Ann Lohmann |

| Scott
you’ve made this week a week to remember. I know
that what I’ve learned I can give to others. You
haven’t just given me a gift, you have changed my
whole community. All my best Terry B. Peak |

| Scott, I’m so glad that my prayers were answered in making my decision to change my art class to your class! I have learned so much and I am so excited about putting my ideas to work! Your family is very special to me also! Love Kathy Scalf |

| To Scott- Your class was a real experience I will never forget. You are a genuine person and are an asset to your profession. Your friend- Linda Solook |

|
| In one
week, I learned as much or more in Scott Smith's class
than I did in a class that cost me thousands of dollars
and 9 months of my time. Ron Horton |

| Dear
Scott: I have NEVER received a more rewarding return for my time and money as I have by taking your course. May God continue to bless you and your family. Thanks again. Mark Willis |
|
|
| I
thoroughly enjoyed the course and learned a great deal-
especially new lighting techniques that will put
"juice" in my camera. You have always been an
instructor I have wanted to have and the week was a
delight. I have enjoyed it immensely. You have also
inspired me to not stop with my new CPP degree but to go
on and try for my Masters. Thanks! Bernie Glen |
|
|
| There is
not enough paper here to really be very elaborate. I have
for a change, really learned something that I can take
home. "Lighting Made Simple!" You go the extra
mile. Thank you so much for allowing us to contact you
via email. Thanks! Heath Greenstreet |

|
| Scott I would like to thank you for your patience. You made all of us feel so comfortable. This is my first class in photography but I feel that I have received so much that I could now actually take professional pictures without them being accidents! Your fool proof lighting techniques made this so motivating. I loved the hands on teaching. I was so lucky to be in your class. Sincerely, Hilda Solis |

|
| This was
my forth year at Texas School. I know that I will retain
more from your class than from any of the others. You
made all of this where it could be understood. You made
it simple. Looking forward to taking some of your
seminars in the future. Thanks so much! Terry Presley |
|
|
| Scott: This was a wonderful class. I came here with very little knowledge of even basic photography. You have really gone in depth to explain the functions of the camera, lighting, posing, meter reading, shutter speed etc. I am thrilled that I actually understand the equipment and how it works. I have learned about backdrops and how to make them. I feel like I can actually go home and do something. Thanks so much. Angela |

|
| Thank you
for making everything so clear. You have helped my
greatly and I will be forever in your debt. Keep on
enjoying your family and many happy years to you. Bill Campbel |

|
| Scott I have been struggling with this lighting thing for 15 plus years, but you made it very simple to understand. Everything was a "down to earth" no nonsense approach to the workings of a studio. I enjoyed your class very much and hope to see you again in the near future. I also plan to take your seminar in February. Wayne Burnett |

|
| Thank you
so much for such an informative week. I really appreciate
the way you simplify everything so we can understand it.
You really have a gift for teaching. Teresa Metcalf |

|
| Your
class was great! Enjoyed and appreciated your willingness
to share it all (no secrets)!! Leaving your hotel room
open to us in the evenings while intruding on your family
just shows how much you care for truly teaching and
giving us the opportunity to learn. I have and will
highly recommend your class and appreciate the all out
effort you have put into it! One really sincere thank
you! Gary Kral |

|
| If you
are an individual who is considering enrolling in a
course taught by Scott Smith, I urge you to do so! This
course was positively incredible. As someone who is
relatively new to this career field, I've struggled with
lighting challenges. Scott has helped me to feel far more
adapt at lighting, posing, use of gels, metering and so
forth. This class is great for the new photographer
working on basic skills, but also for the more
experienced photographer seeking to improve his/her
skills. Thank you Scott! Thank you Becky? I look forward
to participating in a future workshop. Tami Vanderwite |

| My name
is Christine Sliney, I was in your class this past April.
As I am browsing through your website, I would like for
you and Becky to know that I admire you both so very
much. I am blessed to have met you both and your little
angel as well. You inspire me to no end. The time that
you put into your website to help aspiring photographers
like myself really gives me amazing ideas and makes me so
excited to be in this field. I still have much to learn
yet not a moment goes by that I do not take a picture
with my heart. Thank you both so much for sharing so much
valuable information with everyone! I hope to be at the
seminar in Galveston in October, it would be wonderful to
see you all there!! God bless!! Christine |
