I made this image about a half hour before sunset but since there are a lot of fairly high hills to the west, no direct sunlight reaches the scene. A good benefit is that there is still a lot of ambient light and the sky is still bright allowing for faster shutter speeds. 1/8th @ f 5.6 was typical for this location. There is a large open area between the trees above and behind my left shoulder that provides the directional light for the subject. Kodak VPS III film was used. |
