"Purple Passion"

This flower looks a bit like a rose but it is not. We spotted it around a gate in central Texas. The color was irresistible. It was just about noon and when the sun was shining the contrast was far too harsh to record a useable image. When a cloud passed in front of the sun, the lighting was far more gentle and was quite usable for the subject.
