Hi!
This is my COPS page for kids. This page is about Police Officers and what they do for us. There is also a page about safety for kids and how to use 911 in an emergency. You can even learn about my police officer friends by clicking on the links below. I hope you enjoy your visit.

To the right, you can see two medals. The first is one that symbolizes how proud police officers are to do what they do. The second medal is in honor of the police officers who have died in the line of duty. Being a police officer can be very dangerous. The next time you see a police officer, tell him or her, thank you for the important and dangerous job they do.

I have a police officer friend. If you click on name below, you can read about him.
Detective
Derik Sanderson

This is a police car. The bright, blinking lights are on so people can see it coming and get out of the way. When a police car has it's lights blinking, it means that there is an emergency somewhere and the police officer inside needs to get there very fast. Sometimes Police Officers turn their loud siren on when they are in a hurry too.

Some Police Officers ride on motorcycles. Motorcycles can go places that big police cars cannot go because they are smaller. This makes them very handy. Police motorcycles have blinking lights and a siren just like a police car.

Did you know that every city has Police Officers? Some officers are men and some are ladies. They are all there to help people if there is an emergency or if someone breaks the law. Sometimes Police Officers have to look for bank robbers and other people that break the law. When you see a Police Officer, say hello and let them know that you are glad they are there to protect us and keep our city safe.

ALWAYS REMEMBER
POLICE OFFICERS ARE YOUR FRIENDS

These are the Ten Commandments
for Police Officers

Thou shalt protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Thou shalt be kind to rookies.

Thou shalt keep the "beat."

Thou shalt always wear thy vest while on duty.

Thou shalt remain alert - even on third shift.

Thou shalt have the wisdom of King Solomon.

Thou shalt remember thou art only human.

Thou shalt ask God for courage in the face of danger.

Thou shalt not forget that family comes first.

Thou shalt keep the peace, and preserve law and order.
