"Gone with the Wind"

Using filters to darken the outer areas of a photograph is something that I have always discouraged my students from doing too much of. When you change the negative it's pretty well for good even if it is a mistake. Here is a bridal that has a similar effect but from a natural setting. The bride is set against a dark area and as a result becomes the shining star of the image. Any light patches of sky that recorded on the film were retouched out to provide a distraction free image of our bride. My wife lifted the the veil up and allowed it to settle slowly to the ground with a little help from the wind.
