"Tom and Jerry" Anyone who is familiar with the personality of a basenji knows that they just never sit still. To optimize the situation we positioned the owners on each side of the barrel, literally inches away from the dogs. This way the dogs can feel more at ease with someone who is familiar being so near. The added bonus to this is that if they decide to take a flying leap off the barrel, the owners are there to catch them. These guys usually react well to sounds. Once you have their attention with the sound, move something like a feather and they will usually follow it so you can get them to look anywhere you desire.
