"Demon" This image was selected for the PP of A Loan Collection several years ago. The knife looks a lot meaner here than when you hold it in your hand. Photography can do some amazing things. As always the fire is real and the blue in the blade comes from two strobe heads with barn doors and blue gels, one on either side of the camera. The alternating light/dark effect across the top was achieved by mounting a piece of milky white continued below diagram coming soon. |
Plexiglas above the camera and back lighting it with a strobe head. The plex had several vertical pieces of black tape about an inch apart. This zebra stripe light source provided more tonality to the flat metal surface of the knife. The blade tip is resting on a white pine 2 X 4 and is supported by a wire mounted to the back of the 2 X 4.The mountain in front of the knife is plaster and painted black. |
